snippet: This dataset was created by MDEQ to provide consistnently formatted elevation accross the State. This mosaic encompasses 15 different Lidar projects and the 1996 MARIS10M DEM. The 10M DEM was used in areas of the Tupelo Dataset where data was missing. Lidar is deleivered to MDEQ in various formats. Generally the DEM's are some type of RASTER dataset in one or Many folders. To aid in data management the rasters were loaded into ESRI File Geodatabases. Mosaics for the individual projects were then created. In 2018 an attempt was made to stitch these porject mosaics together, but all attempts failed. In 2019 a new mosaic was built from the Base rasters in the project FGDB. After rebuilding overviews the statewide Mosaic is 582gb on disc.

description: <DIV STYLE="text-align:Left;"><DIV><DIV><P><SPAN>This dataset is a Mosaic of Lidar Projects spanning 10 years in Mississippi. Individual Project Metadata can be found at the File Geodatabase level of the projects in the SourceTiles folder. The Web Mercator Coordinate system was chosen for this Mosaic to maximze its usability in web mapping. The base rasters retained their original Coordinate system, and I have not had any trouble reprojecting the data. The Statewide Mosaic reports all elevations in US Feet. Orignial elevations were mixed between Meters and Feet. I insterted a function for unit conversion on all reasters originally reporting elevation in Meters. This Math only exists in the Mosaic, and will not be the same if you load an individual raster from the SourceTiles folder.</SPAN></P></DIV></DIV></DIV>
