This dataset is a Mosaic of Lidar Projects spanning 10 years in Mississippi. Individual Project Metadata can be found at the File Geodatabase level of the projects in the SourceTiles folder. The Web Mercator Coordinate system was chosen for this Mosaic to maximze its usability in web mapping. The base rasters retained their original Coordinate system, and I have not had any trouble reprojecting the data. The Statewide Mosaic reports all elevations in US Feet. Orignial elevations were mixed between Meters and Feet. I insterted a function for unit conversion on all reasters originally reporting elevation in Meters. This Math only exists in the Mosaic, and will not be the same if you load an individual raster from the SourceTiles folder. |
